Releases of Interest - June 2016

What's up hubristic mosaicists? (Hmm not sure about that one)

It's nearly the end of May and everywhere people are suffering from hayfever and generally starting to feel sticky. Here are a few picks of goodies we can expect from the month.

Mirror's Edge Catalyst - PC, PS4 Xbox One

First person parkour in a dystopian cityscape. The first Mirror's Edge captured the feeling of sprinting across the rooftops of a futuristic city, we all have our fingers crossed that the sequel lives up to the hype.

No Man's Sky - PC, PS4

Potentially unlimited space exploration. Can this game live up to it's promises? Edit - This one is delayed folks :-( Recent reports are suggesting this one might now be delayed until August, but I'm leaving it here in the vain hope they are wrong as we're all dead keen for this.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions FE - Wii U

Ridiculous JRPG of the Month. A mix of Shin Megami Tensei and Fire Emblem you say? Sounds interesting, espeically when the protaganists are up and coming Jpop stars by day.

Mighty No. 9 - Everything

Run and gun platformer. Much delayed Kickstarter success by Keiji Inafune, a lot of people are looking forward to this one.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens - Everything

At this point, you haven't played a LEGO game? The brick building action games are usually dependable and the theme for this one is sure to make it a good seller.

The Nice Guys (15)

Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling team up for a 70s neo-noir buddy comedy. Sounds ok but when you consider it's directed by Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Iron Man 3, the upcoming The Predator) it might be interesting and early buzz is good.

The Conjuring 2 (15)

Paranormal sequel directed by James Wan (Saw, Insidious, Furious 7). I was too scared to watch the whole trailer.

Gods Of Egypt (12A) (3D)

Accusations of a whitewashed cast aside, this still looks like it could be an overblown mess, but could turn out to be fun. Directed by Alex Proyas (The Crow, I Robot) and starring Gerard Butler (300, Olympus Has Fallen), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Game of Thrones Jaime Lannister) and Chadwich Boseman (Marvel's new Black Panther)

Independence Day: Resurgence (3D)

More destruction porn from Roland Emmerich. The aliens return for another shot but this time Will Smith is nowhere to be found, so it's up to Jeff Goldblum (The Fly, Jurassic Park) to take the lead alongside Liam Hemsworth (Thor's little bro) and Bill Pullman (Er... Independence Day)

Me Before You (12A)

Emilia Clarke leaves the dragons behind for a romantic drama based on a 2012 novel. Probably bleh, but it also features Jenna Coleman (Dr Who's Clara), Charles Dance (Game of Thrones' Tywin Lannister) and Sam Claflin (Hunger Games, Pirates of the Carribean: On Stranger Tides)

Board Game Expo 3rd - 5th June

The annual UK Board Game Expo is also this month, it's usually a good mix of up and coming games to check out and stall bursting with games to buy. They also run tournaments, RPG sessions, seminars and talks. All in all if you like board games it's a good day out! For more information go to

Electronic Entertainment Expo June 14th - 16th

The annual video game industry fair in LA. We're dead jealous if anyone is making it to this, we are looking forward to some interesting game reveals and a ton of trailers!

What are you looking forward to this month? Anything we missed you're excited for? Let us know in the comments.
